Hi! My name is Olivia Bowser, and I am the 2019 Effingham Women In Business Scholarship recipient. I now attend the Savannah College of Art and Design where I major in Themed Entertainment with a quadruple minor in set design, costume design, lighting design, and conservation design. I also plan to get my Masters in Creative Business Leadership. With my degree, I plan to seek work at Universal Studios or Disney World in Orlando, Florida designing attractions for all ages to enjoy. In addition, I hope to build and design museum exhibits that will facilitate a positive learning environment for all demographics to learn about the environment and their part in conserving it. Recently, I have been awarded a Grant in partnership with the Puffin Foundation West to help create my exhibit for pollinators.
When exploring my options for college, I remember feeling the overwhelming, existential dread of the tuition cost that loomed over my head; I had not had the best home life, and I knew that scholarships would be imperative to me pursuing higher education. While sifting through scholarship applications, I came across the Effingham Women in Business and their amazing platform that they extend to high-school seniors who are in need of financial help. Receiving this scholarship gave me the confidence I needed to continue my Creative Business Leadership path. Most of the software I use on a daily basis is expensive, and this scholarship helped cover the cost, which I am extremely grateful for.
The platform Effingham Women in Business operates on is exemplary, and has helped me in my pursuit of education more that I can not put into words!
Your donation will go towards helping us build community and provide opportunity for growth to the women of Effingham County as well as enable us to give back through events and scholarships.
